When you have a complete set of teeth, you have all the freedom to eat and enjoy smiling without worrying how your smile would look. Sometimes, as we know, we have a perfect smile, we tend to skip doctor’s visits, and ignore some check-ups that are essential.

The Impact of Tooth Loss and the Confidence Dentures Restore

But the moment that you lose a tooth, that is where you will fully realise their importance. Losing your pearly whites due to factors such as disease, gum problems, injury or tooth decay is devastating. And with technology, now people have a chance to still feel confident and smile just the same as before with the replacement of dentures.

Denture relines may also be recommended over time to maintain a secure and comfortable fit.

Different Types of Dentures:

  • Immediate Denture. These are often false teeth that are implanted to the patient’s gums on the same day the tooth is taken out. This is preferred by some patients who wanted an immediate replacement of their missing pearly whites.
  • Partial Denture. This denture effectively replaces one or more teeth with a structure comprising a specific denture base. It often looks like the most matching colour of your gums and denture teeth. It is implanted to the rest of the teeth often using a clasp.
  • Valplast. It is one of the most in-demand dentures with its ability to easily flex around the natural teeth. It also has a translucent material that makes it look more natural.
  • Mouth Guard. These mouth guards are specifically created to protect the teeth, especially during contact sports.
  • Full Dentures. This type is a complete set of false teeth which can either be conventional or immediate dentures.

Final Thought

After having your dentures, it is also important that you visit your doctor regularly to check you and your dentures if they need adjustment. In many cases, denture relines can extend the life of your dentures and improve their comfort as your mouth naturally changes over time.
